i took the PD test this morning and I must say, it was probably one of the "fairest" (is there such word?) tests I've taken
i studied Kaplan 1 and 2 and the AIA docs, as well as ftp stuff, and i can say with certainty that 95% of the test was based on material included in said sources
study time was about 50hrs and i started about 2 weeks ago
there were 1 or 2 history questions which are not in Kaplan and which I didn't know
concentration areas were:
- AIA-B241 and AIA-201, with emphasis on the latter
- services included in basic + additional services
- adaptive reuse (about 10 questions!)
- scheduling and its impact on cost
- different types of contracts between owner - architect - contractor/cm, etc
- egress, ANSI
there were about 4 to 5 WTF questions
i am soo thrilled to be done taking all the ARE tests - i can't wait for the final pass letter
thanks to all that helped and good luck to you

this proves that no 2 people get the same test.
i took the exam this morning and had no ANSI (i thought this would be there for sure!!!!), and only one egress related question that was masked within a multiple-multiple question on building area. plus only 2-3 adaptive re-use.
the exam itself was pretty decent: all APPLIED info from ALS and the flashcards. i just don't understand the language used. and by that i mean the way in which they worded questions. it left me (at times) unsure of my answers. not because i didn't know the topic, but because the wording made me think they we not looking for the obvious answer. i don't know...maybe language is different where i am.
maybe i should start an NSL (NCARB as a Second Language) support group?
