all i keep hearing is that the study books are almost worthless in preparing for PD. can anyone make some suggestions for study materials in additon to the obvious:
kaplan
ballast
archiflash
???

AHHP, Kaplan, Ballast, and archiflash. If you have time read Modern Architecture, Suburban Nation, and The New urbanism from the reference material suggested by ncarb.
Yes, you are right. These books are somehow worthless for this test (except AHHP), but it does give you a good background to make the best guess on the exam. Good luck.

it's alot of reading but I think a great deal of this stuff appears on the exam in one form or the other. good luck on yur exam
