I went in feeling nervous but it was not a bad test. Much less / easier material than MEP. I used the following and felt well prepared, left feeling very good:
ALS books: read twice (and FTP notes from ALS, surprisingly useful to review reworded and condensed format)
Ballast: Presdesign Chapters: read twice ( I never use Kaplan, only Ballast)
Ballast: Documents and ADA sections skim / read depending on your familiarity.
Contract Docs A201 + B141 + A101 1997: Read twice
Flash Cards: go through twice
Read the SoI guidelines on the 4 treatments for Historic Preservatrion (this is key)
AAHB : Read sections on Alternative Dispute Resolutions, Programming and Project Delivery skim other relevant sections. This very modest amount of reading will go a long way.
ALS History: Good to skim, some questions that reflect the range covered in that.
I find that the best thing is get through everything once, and then start using all your material simulataneously. Once you re-read everything a couple of times, in different orders, it sinks in. As always, you overprepare a bit, and the exam is fine, I had enough time to go over every question a second time, and still had time to spare.
Easily done in 3 weeks. (Though I gave myself 4)
Good luck.

Hi there,
I just took ME today and begin studying PD tomorrow - so appreciate your post. Where did you get the dispute resolution docs? I think I have all the rest.
Thanks!

| I got the summaries of the 3 kinds of ADR's (Alternative Dispute Resolutions) from the Architect's Handbook of Professional Practice. I used 14th ed. Many say 13th is better for the exam, but I thought 14th was fine.

Thanks Glassman, your post is incredibly timely and helpful.
I just booked my PD exam for 4 weeks out and have most of your references in hand for my study program. Let's just hope the Canadian handbook for practice isn't too different from the American one.

A couple of other things:
Several weird real estate term questions. I wouldn't know where the answers are to those, I wouldn't even bother trying to prepare for them.
A bunch of adaptable reuse (common sense) questions, not sure where one would study for those and it's no really necessary , and know the differences between design-bid-build and design-build (AHPP).
