I just got out of PD, giving me 4 taken (3 down CD,MEP,Materials /1 pending).
Like all the poor ARE 3.1 candidates, the clock is ticking hard and I want to get all three of the graphics (BT/BP/SD) done in the next 8 weeks (around Columbus Day), so I can get this nonsense complete. Besides it's got to be before 12/30/08 so I can get two bites of the apple in case I fail one...
I can take the two structures whenever, since the 3.1 to 4.0 conversion is a positive here...
So...
1. Order? I've been able to ascertain that (due to conversion penalties) it should be BT, SP, BP. Is this correct?
2. Efficient study techniques? We are all busy professionals here... What have you guys done to use your time wisely?
3. What are the required tasks/texts? I understand that the discussion begins with (a) the NCARB vignette disk, (b) the FTP scenarios off this site, (c) read Dorf's, (d) read the Kaplan's (?) Is this correct? Am I missing anything?
Anybody whom is reading, thanks for your time. And any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Hi Sundance,
Welcome. For the graphics, you will need Dorf and this forum. That is all. Post all of your solutions and comment on everyone elses. For BT I did just that for 4 weeks. SP, I did this for 4 weeks. Then BP I did for about 2 weeks. I am waiting on BP, still. I took it on July 9th.
Anyways, I feel good about BP, but who knows. Anyways, Kaplan seems to go against everything on this forum as far as the graphic tests are concerned. So, I wouldn't even bother, just gets confusing. For mine, I only had Dorf and this forum. Use the alts for all three. They are harder than the actual, but that is great practice.
Read Dorf, start browsing the forum, and practice a bunch. For BT, I recommend going all the way back to June this year, there is a whole slough of us that passed the end of that month, so we must have done something right.

I took SP in April. But I would definately recommend using the videos on parking lots on the FTP site. Very helpful.
Good luck, if you have any questions, don't be shy about posting. I have certainly had my fair share of "Dah" questions. But someone always had an answer.

First, get comfortable with the software. Do not get frustrated with it, it's designed for limited needs and it does a decent job. I recommend scheduling after a few days off from work and away from your regular cad software. Practice hard the last couple of days.
What dottie said is correct. The forum and Dorf. Stay away from Kaplan & most seminars. Seminars are for people who do not use this forum.
When working on solutions, keep it simple.
By the way, there is no reason for you to worry about BP since it is unchanged in 4.0. Concentrate on BT, then SP.
My prep for BT was about a week of casual reading and playing with the software followed by 4 days of serious vignette work. BP was about 2 + 3.

Agree with Dottie and Coach. On efficient study, what helped me was spending nights and especially weekends studying and learning the software. If possible, try to devote two preparation weekends before each graphic exam.
Also, like Dottie, I found the SP videos very helpful. To maximize efficiency, I used dual screen monitors to watch the vignette videos and, at the same time, practice alongside, using NCARB's software. Concurrently practicing the software with the video enabled me to efficiently learn SP's graphic techniques.
Good Luck!

I personally took them SP, BT and BP. BP was the easiest. If you take it after practicing BT, piece of cake.
SP could go either front or back. Probably middle if you wanted. I took BP 2 weeks after BT because I knew the program, just needed to refine the material being tested.
Good luck with how ever you decide.
