A co-worker took lateral forces almost 5 weeks ago. He is getting extremely anxious about these results. Having had to go through the process myself I feel his pain. These are friggin multiple choice tests, how long do they take to grade?
Has anyone had them take longer to get to you than the stated "2 to 4 weeks"? What can one do? Nothing? Are we that handicapped with this system?

A) Firing up 4.0 has caused some delays.
B) Is it his last test? They take longer to process in some states.
C) He can always call to see what's up. Reports have slipped through the cracks before.

It is no this last test, just his 6th. And yeah, I bet 4.0 has slowed the process down. I just got my last pass letter a few months ago, it registered in the State of Ohio License website before I got the results. And yeah, it seems like it took an extra week to get to me. That last one is understandable.
I wonder if they realize how much we all care about this, how long it took to do all of this including 5+ years of college. It is painful.

There are a number of possible reasons for delays. Not necessarily related to any transition to version 4.0
State employee's don't make huge salaries but they have fairly good benefits. Vacation is one. Summer is vacation season for most. State boards are usually not manned by more that one or two clerks and and an administrator. If any one of those people is off, for any reason, it can change the work flow and the normal amount of time it takes to process your exam.
Other possible reasons for delay is that most state boards are not only responsible for architects but also for engineers, land surveyor's and landscape architects. Engineers tests usually are in the summer. The Board gets all of their test scores at once and must process them too. There are usually about 2 to 3 times as many more engineering candidates than architectural candidates.
The normal amount of time is about 30 days for MC's. I would call the board and make sure they have the candidate's records and are in fact processing it.

| this is so annoying! I took sp 8/11 my last (colorada state) and my friend took her 4th test sp 8/11 in virginia state. lets see who receives it earlier. past we have seen i received it earlier then her. don't know if its a state thing or something else. its the same exam, same testing procedure then why different dates for receiving results? moreover does the last test takes longer then others?

it took 6 weeks and two days for my July 2nd ME exam results to arrive. all my other MC took no longer then 2.5 weeks...this time around, the NC State Board decided to shut down for two weeks to renovate or move or something which must have held things up...at least the letter was a pass, that was the longest six weeks of my life!

They should not be permitted to delay us like that. Especially with MC tests. They simply have way too much control. Meanwhile the test person next to me takes a mc test and knows the results in 1 second after they hit the complete button.

For me, CO sent me my final test results faster than any other tests. About 2 weeks after the test, BAM--packet comes in the mail. About 2 weeks after I sent the paperwork in, BAM--licensed posted on CO's site. About 2 weeks after that, I got the wallet card in the mail.
They were on the ball.

All you can do is wait....
I did not recieve a graphics score any faster than 10 weeks.
MC scores usually took about 3-6 weeks.
Yeah... I know how you feel.

Always keep in mind that the stated 2-4 weeks is only for NCARB's processing. If you're in a state where the results have to go to your state board and then to you this can add a few days to a week under normal circumstances, and if you're in a smaller state and somebody is away on vacation or something like that then it can sometimes add more than that.
Up to 6 weeks isn't unusual for MC exams, and you'll most likely find that people at the state and at NCARB won't put much effort into discussing it with you or looking into it at that point.
If it's been more than 6 weeks then contact your board, unless you're in a direct registration state in which case you should call NCARB.

Well, he got his results. he had to call in to get them. They had sent it to his previous address. They got the last test right, how they didn't get this one right I will never know.

I am waiting on my final test, ME. As you can imagine, I am crawling the walls! It has been exactly two weeks since I took the test. I couldn't help it, I called the state board's office, there is the nicest lady that works there. I have communicated with her on a couple of occasions. I e-mailed her today and asked if she heard anything from NCARB yet, if so, could she call me. She e-mailed back and said nothing came in the mail today. So, apparently, NCARB mails to the state, hmm?
Anyways, she asked how I wanted to be contacted, phone, e-mail or just wait for my letter? I want to know, quickly, but that whole checking the mailbox thing is a routine from all summer and a ritual for my family.
It's like waiting for Christmas! But I don't want to cheat and look in my mother's closet and know what I am going to get, ruins the suprise!
So, still waiting. I don't know how I want to find out. I like the letter thing, it is like a present, but I really want to find out sooner.

Dottie: I thought you said you were going fishing.
So go fishing and let the wall crawling take care of itself.
I look forward to your Pass Post. You have worked hard on this.

Thanks so much alomu! Went fishing 2 weekends ago. We brought home 9 nice salmon. Fun and exhausting! Been doing football everynight and a game on Saturdays. The State fair is going on, kids' school started, studying for LEED. Starting that Arctic class in one week, and work of course!
I am busy, but still anxious! My husband is superstitious. He says we should just wait for the letter.
That is probably the route we will go. But I just want to know. ME was not very cut and dry. It was kinda hard.
Well, I got to get the little darlings ready for bed. Thanks all at the Forum!
(What is up with that spam above??)

I used to use studying for my next test to get my mind off the one I had just taken. When I took my last test I had to keep myself busy just doing anything I could find. It didn't work very well.
All my other MC exams I recieved in 1 1/2 weeks and my last MC pass took 3 1/2 weeks. To say the least I was freaking out.

Okay, the family decided to wait for the letter. So, here I sit, waiting for Christmas. I e-mailed the state board lady to just send me the letter.
Wise choice. Now, off to the Fair today. I am pulling kids out early and away we go!
See you all on the forum, and thanks.
