I have to get this out of my system before I call them...again.

I went in Saturday for my last exam (Pre-design).  Noticed on the way into the office complex that they were doing utility work.  Then I drive into the parking lot and wonder to myself why there would only be 3 cars there.  So I go into the place and there's a note on the door that says the power is out and the rest of the tests for the day are cancelled, with a ticket number next to your name and instructions to call prometric customer service on Monday.  A NOTE?!!  SERIOUSLY?  Now, there were only about 12 names on the list, would it have been too much to call, seeing as they got to leave work 3 hours early as it is?

Could I be any angrier?  Probably not.  Maybe if it was my 2nd through 8th exam I could get over it, but I AM SUPPOSED TO BE DONE!!!!!

So naturally I call the phone number immediately, against their instructions to wait until Monday.  The person on the other end, who I tried to be very nice to since it wasn't his fault after all, said that with some tests he could reset the system, but oh no, NCARB wants a freakin e-mail.  Oh, and of course he immediately gets a response saying the person is on vacation until Tuesday!  I give him credit for trying several other people, but I am still waiting to hear when I can take this test.  Prometric is definitely going to the top of my list of strongly worded letters to write.  I know there is nothing more I can do but I just figured I would share that little piece of injustice with you all.

Happened to me once. I showed up for Site Planning and their server was down. The idea of a backup server was apparently a mystery to them.

The staff at the testing center gave me a case number (called something else but a i can't remember what) and a phone number to call. I had to reschedule the test for a month later (earliest time they had open).

The real pain in rescheduling was that ARE Operations would not authorise a reschedule until the manager of the local testing center confirmed that I was unable to test there. That took a couple of days because the "manager" wasn't reachable.

Call ARE Operations instead of the number they gave. They are both Prometric, but the first number was no help.

Good luck.

Yeah they gave me the special number for people who have a "ticket".  They were actually pretty good.  They called back when they said they would and got me in for Thursday.  I will have to take time off work but I would rather do that than have to wait a month for a Saturday.
