PAGE 18!!!  LET THE PARTY BEGIN!!!!

Regarding the fissile material that you mention, I'm not familiar with it.  If it melts over nacho chips and tastes like cheese, maybe you can bring it to the party with you?

We're in Florida weathering the storm, I'll host a slip and slide party!!!!!!!!

Professor Bryan just called and he is coming too!!!!!!!!!!!

The link above is for a sustainable building LEED AP consulting practice. Nowhere on their site do they mention that they have the author of the "Arizona" test's permission to publish his work. I am not of the opinion that they have done so maliciously, but I am just as certain, that they would have problems if you published their work. For example, the principal of the firm published a decent work "The Cost of LEED". May we now publish this book (it's available from AIA for a vision of how much it costs) on the Internet?

One needs to consider the implications of stealing another's work or intellectual property, if one is engaged in producing similar works.

Also, Dr. Arizona: My fissile material is not getting any younger, and the blue glow from my goat barn has visibly decreased. I am now making a side income on the inexplicable two and three headed goats that I have for sale on Ebay, as a sideline to my fissile material sales. This is not getting me any closer to being a LEED AP and raking in the big drachmas as a LEED consultant in my country. Also, I am assuming that If I build from piles of dirt, that I can gain LEED points fcor locally produced mud, and a point for Innovation in Design for using unexploded Bombs for making the original Crater and pile of Dirt. Can you verify that I can obtain this credit? I ahve assured a local warlord that he can obtain LEED Dirt certification, so you can see that this is important to me.

Please reply swiftly, as we will need to be moving the encampment. Apparently there are closeout sales on caves nearby. Something about the ceilings caving in when their neighbors use bombs in construction.

Just passed!  Woohoo!  Some things that helped me pass:

Fill out this study guide (free), it was much more helpful than flashcards:
http://www.intheleed.com/leed-blank-study-guide/
Put in standards, critical numbers, and general intent/idea of each credit

Get this, the LEED prep study guide ($80):
http://www.ppi2pass.com/ppi/PPIShop
Very helpful in summarizing credits and filling out the guide listed above.  The Passing forum, flashcards, and practice problems were not that helpful.

Buy these practice exams ($50):
http://www.greenexamprep.com/store/products/NC22PRACTICETEST.html
They have 4 tests, you can take them as many times as you want, its a pretty good representation of the actual exam

For insurance, buy the USGBC Colo.rado Chapter study guide.  NOTE THIS GUIDE IS GOOD FOR ALL STATES, AND THERE IS A VERSION FOR CANADA.  This comes with a good rundown of the CIR information (better than the LEED reference guide itself does) the Leed online submittal process (which you NEED to know) and a good practice exam.  ($50)

TIPS:

RELAX:  My scoring totals from the four sections of the exam:  82%, 67%, 87% 71%
So you're asking, WTF?  How did you pass?!  I got a 182, passing is 170.  Obviously this weighting system/scaled scoring that LEED uses to score the tests is designed to get you to pass.  I was averaging anywhere around 75% on practice exams, it seems that my exam score was right on with that.  Thank god for the weighting system.  I still dont understand it and never seen anyone adequately explain it.

WHAT TO KNOW:
FTE and what credits use it
All the MR %'s for each credit and Id points
General knowledge about every credit
Standards, the 3 ASHRAE big ones, ANSI 90.1-2004, AND the individual standards for the EQc4.1-4.4 and which credits they're used for.
The Water Use reduction WE c3.1-3.2 calc parameters, not the equations but what goes into the equations
CIR submittals process
LEED registration process
Commisioning Authority roles/task for Enhanced and Fundamental Commish.
Be able to pick what credits will be applicable given a project scenario

FIRST THING DURING THE EXAM:  Do a brain dump on your scrap paper of standards, %'s and critical information so you can free your mind up and READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY.

ALSO:  I AM SELLING SOME OR ALL OF  MY STUDY MATERIALS WHICH HELPED ME PASS AT A NICE DISCOUNT.  Send me an email at kbergeth(AT)yahoo.com and I'll send you list of what I have and costs.

GOOD LUCK!

Doctor Arizona, My goats yearn for a LEED compliant shelter, and I can comply using a bomb crater and some scrap tin by amplifying my credits with a passing grade on the LEED exam. One more point, my goat shelter will be LEED silver and I can arrive at the famed page 19, which I am told will allow me entrance to Paradise.

Send me the accursed test.

Another record is about to be reached...

This thread is about 4000 views away from hitting 100,000 views.  I believe this goal will call for jello shots.

This cracks me up each time someone new posts a request for the mock exam. Here is Prof. Bryan's original post with highlights.

By the way Prof. Bryan is very quick to respond when the proper instructions are followed.

I teach a course on Environmental Rating Systems for Buildings at Arizona State University and prepared a course exam based on LEED NC 2.1. My students who have taken that course and went on to take the actual LEED exam comment on how close my exam was to the real thing. E-mail me and I will send you the questions and answers to last years exam: harvey.bryan(AT)asu.edu (email address provided so you can E-MAIL him.)

Regards
