Are you sure that is legal for you to do? The flashcards are copywritten materials (I know Cascadia chapter's are-not sure about Saeger or Leed education). I would first make sure you are not violating any copyright laws.

Unless you are in the green game for profit, What another does should be of no concern to you. I fully understand that you were just warning this member.
I have no problem with sustainable design practices. I do have a problem with all of the money that is being made from so called non-profit organizations including USGBC and the new GBC? that will take over the tests and add an additional $50.00 for the exam.
There are too many people making big bucks off "GREEN" and it really stinks.
If USGBC was sincere, they would have done things differently and made study materials free, and made testing on-line and free.
Compare USGBC with DOE and the free Comcheck and you may begin to see what I mean.

Stl-guy, I'm sure you provide all of your architectural services for free, and let anyone copy your work on a regular basis. Copyright laws are in place for a reason.
Most of us live in the U.S., which happens to be a CAPITALISTIC society. Good for those people making money on "green". It breeds competition for sustainable services and products providing positive improvement for our county.
You always have the choice to live somewhere else where capitalistic privileges don't exist.
Stop complaining, and grow up!

GG,
I obtained these flash cards as a free download at their respective sites. Instead of listing the sites where a person can go and retrieve them, I simply put them into a file and offering to forward them to anyone that is interested at no cost. I don't see where this violated any copyright infringement.

your response shocked me and I thought twice before i respond... in any event, it is irrelevant to compare USGBC to any private practice because if we are really sinking and the world will be a horrible place in few years then we should do all we got to save ourselves and we should be spreading "Green" knowledge right and left ...for free....

Two of the founding members of USGBC are friends and fellow architects that I worked with, Bill Odell and Mary Ann Lazarus. They promoted sustainable design concepts. Read the book they wrote.
The "green" movement" has since become very fashionable. Where profit can be made some are trying to capitalize on what was only intended to be best practice principles for architects.
This has nothing to do with business and capitalism.
I do give away some services. I have been a long time forum member helping others pass the ARE.
In this world, there are givers and there are takers. I feel I am mostly a giver.
