I know LEED-S (LEED for Schools)  is still relatively new but has anyone come across any issues when attempting credit EQ 4 on a project?

The guidelines for LEED-S is completely different than LEED-NC which uses the South Coast VOC guidelines. LEED-S references a guide that does nothing but list testing procedures for accpetable products and lists the very limited amount of products that have been approved so far.

It seems that LEED-S "pigeon-holes" contractors in to buying or only having selection from a limited amount of products!!!! How or who determines which products should be tested seems like a hole for abuse of the system if you ask me.

Ive already CIR'd the USGBC and all they can tell me is "we know it a problem, we're working on it"

The problem is, LEED-S has alreday been adopted by a few school districts.  It seems like this credit was not well thought out before being implimented.

Anyone else had any experience with EQ 4 for LEED-S yet?

I looked at this recently and it's a huge pile (the LEED-Schools referenced standard that is)... The USGBC just ruled (July 7th 2008) that you can use the existing standard as it's written or default back to the LEED NC 2.2 requirements for the relevant options...  Should make it easier to comply.

I posted about this earlier today <- more details there...

Hope that helps!
