My name is John Wyka and I am offering for sale PASS x FLASH CSE, a set of 240 flashcards to help you prepare for the CSE. Previously available only through the Dean Lee Seminar, I am now selling these cards to the CSE community at large.
I recently passed the CSE, so I have up to date knowledge of the subject matter and tesing procedures. In addition to being a licensed architect I am also a member of the California State Bar Association. I practiced commerical law for several years, which allowed me to analyze the codes and regulations with an eye to how they affect the practice of architecture.

PASSxFLASH CSE contains the information you need to pass the California Supplemental Exam for Architects. A comprehensive flash card study aid, each package contains 240 flash cards covering all four exam categories set forth by the California Architects Board. Each card is color coded and indexed by category allowing you to focus on a particular area or to review for the entire exam. Each card has been researched and written to provide you with precise and accurate information.
PASSxFLASH CSE cards have been compiled from a variety of sources including those recommended by the California Architects Board. Pass by Flash has reviewed the actual text of the codes tested on the exam and distilled this information in a format that allows you grasp each code’s fundamental purpose, applicability, and procedures. Hello everyone,
My name is Dean Lee and I provide seminars on the CSE. In my opinion, these flash cards are one of the best study materials out there. I saw the whole process from start to finish on how he created the cards. I provided feedback on the cards, prior to the final set and I think the cards were invaluable to John's passing the exam on the first try. If I didn't believe in the cards, I wouldn't sell them at my seminar.

Congratulations to everyone who passed the July exam!
Thanks for the great response during the last month. I plan to update the cards on annual or semi-annual basis. For those of you who have purchased PASSxFLASH CSE, please feel free to send me any comments or suggestions. I am also in the process of setting up a website that will contain more information as well as sample cards. It should be online in the next few weeks.

Please see the email I sent you. I will post here when the website is up. Sales tax for California mailing addresses is 8.25%, or $4.13 per card set. Postage varies, but for a single set of cards sent standard delivery (USPS Priority Mail) within the United States the cost is $4.80.

Hello,
This is John. As many of you are aware, the California Architects Board is changing the CSE Test Plan effective with the January 2009 exam. Much of the information will be the same, but there will be an increased emphasis on the aspects of architectural practice unique to California.
I am in the process of creating a 2009 edition of PASSxFLASH CSE which will be complete soon. For those of you taking the November 2008 exam I am still selling the current version of PASSxFLASH CSE. For those of you who have purchased PASSxFLASH CSE and are scheduled to take the exam in 2009, I will email you with the details of an exchange program when the 2009 edition is ready.

Approximately 40% of the cards have been replaced for the 2009 edition. The exam now focuses more narrowly on California specific topics and the new cards will reflect this.
I am finishing up the cards now and expect to send them to the printer early next week. If you have purchased the 2008 edition and your exam date is in 2009, you may exchange your 2008 edition for the 2009 edition. To make the exchange, please mail to Pass by Flash, Inc.:
1. Your 2008 edition of PASSxFLASH CSE,
2. A copy of your CAB notification letter showing your 2009 exam date, and
3. A check for $24.80 made out to Pass by Flash, Inc. to cover replacement costs, tax and shipping.

This is John Wyka. I am pleased to report that the 2009 edition of PASSxFLASH, conforming to the 2009 CSE Test Plan, will be ready for shipment on November 17.
The 2009 edition contains 240 flash cards divided into five categories:
I. Context and Predesign
IIA. Regulatory - California
IIB. Regulatory - Federal and Local
III. Management and Design
IV. Construction
The set contains over 100 entirely new cards and updates of many of the existing cards carried over from the 2008 edition.
The price will remain the same - $50.00 per set plus tax and shipping. You can make payment by credit card through PayPal or by personal check or money order.
