hello-
while waiting for my cse which might be in jan/feb 09, i would like to be registered in another state. (for work reasons)
would like to find out which states require the least amout of paperwork/fees for this application process. from what i see online, its hawaii, arizona and even south dakota!
please share if you have had a similar experience. thank you!!!

| i actually came from california but never pursued taking the oral since i knew that i would be coming to ***. when i got my license here all i needed to do was i took a 25 question take home exam and had california transfer all my work experience. the state of *** requires that you fill out your number of credit units (similar to idp) and meet the minimum. pay your dues and wait for a few months and voila...hope this helps.

i think i know which state you're referring to....i saw that requirement thru the ncarb link. thanks for the update! i m still checking.... some states require that you be registered in the state you originally signed up for prior to transferring....your license # is required for them to give you one.

Arizona is somewhat simple. California will send the ARE stuff over with a phone call. Then it is transcripts and reference letters and fee.

AZ does not require IDP.
It would be great if CAB forwards the experience (and AZ accepts it) because I can't duplicate the paperwork as the architects I worked for are unable to sign new forms.

| I'm being process by the AZ board while waiting for CSE. I have talked with the AZ board and the only item forward from CAB is your ARE test results. Experience, education, & references still need to be verified by AZ board.

Are you sure AZ doesn't require IDP? I saw on their site that the ARE can be taken while completing IDP. Is there a place where it states it is not required?

i thought i did see idp as a requirement for AZ..
coach-
seems like cab is ok with sending out copies, but not originals. originals will cost extra. but best to double check with them.
