I'm in California, and only have a few more ARE's to pass which I hope to finish up in the next few months. I'm doing my IDP credits retroactively, and just had my employers sign off on my last 5 years worth of credits. Can I submit all the credits at once since they're ready to go? I set up my council record July 1 2008. I understand that there's a $570 fee to "compile and transmit" my record within a year of my setup date (July 1). Should I submit all my credits now, and let them process? Is the $570 fee for folks who submit or "compile" credits all at once? Or is it applicable only if I want to transmit the record to my state board w/in 1 year? I was thinking to submit all the credits now, and then sit until July 2 2009 to have my record transmitted to Cali if all goes well. I just want to make sure if this is the best way to go without getting hit with the $570.
Thanks!!!

I think it is only if you want them to transmit the record within that first year:
For compiling and transmitting your Council Record within one year of the application date at your written request. This fee is in addition to the $285 application fee.
$570

I recommend submitting your credits first.
I recommend sending them via UPS or Fedex so that it is easy to confirm delivery.
Once you have evidence that NCARB has them in hand, call customer service and tell them you want the compilation and transmission.
If you try to send money first, you are likely to confuse NCARB.

yeah, submit your idp first. Whatever you owe them, they'll let you know. If they want money, NCARB is lightning quick about letting you know.
