Hello all,
i am offering an intensive seminar, Series 1, and a separate Mock Panel for the California Supplemental Exam taking place on Nov. 17 & 18 in NORTHERN California. The seminar will take place in October near the San Francisco Airport, SFO. This will allow you 4 solid weeks of practice after the seminar to fine tune everything before the exam. Here are the details;
we will focus on two major strategies in preparing for the exam;
strategy #1 - we will discuss the complete CAB test plan in detail and cover ALL of the topics contained within the plan. the CAB test plan will serve as our guide as we move through the process. this will be the foundation for strategy #2, the mock panels. students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the CAB test plan as much as possible before the first class (not required, but helpful).
strategy #2 - mock panels, we will do lots of these. each student will have plenty of time in the "hot seat" to help them prepare for the real conditions of the exam. hearing the question and learning how to respond will be the main focus of the mock panels.
the Seminar, Series 1, will be offered on Saturday, October 18 & Sunday October 19, 2008.
the times will be 9:00 am to 6:00 pm for a total of 18 hours including a working lunch. The morning will consist of a lecture followed by afternoon mock panel practice which is crucial to helping you pass the exam.
Limited to 15 participants to ensure everyone gets equal time in the hot seat.

Cost;
$500 for Series 1.
i will also hold two 4 hour mock panels on november 8. Mock Panel 1 will be held on saturday, november 8 between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Mock Panel 2 will be also be held on saturday, november 8 between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The cost of each Mock Panel will be $200 or $150 if purchased with the Series 1 Seminar. If multiple mock panels are purchased, the cost of each is $150. Practice, Practice, Practice is a major component in preparing for the exam.

i'm a licensed architect and a licensed general contractor with my own private practice and design + build business. i'm also a LEED AP and a certified green builder.
i passed the CSE in january of 2007 on my first attempt. i don't proclaim to be an expert, have a magic wand, or a quick and easy formula but there are skills and techniques that i developed along the way for myself that i will share with you as well as discuss the specifics of the CAB test plan. i will help you verbally prepare for the exam and give you the tools and confidence you need to pass the CSE the first time.
