Steady putting all my ducks in a row, downloading, scanning, getting books, reviewing forum, etc.
I would like to take GS + LF at the end of September. School was long ago but feel comfortable with a challenge and expect to study whenever I can including long weekend sessions (hopefully.) I have to solve structural problems but not the calcs just direction to Engineers, everything is still standing...
QUESTION:
Is 6 (six) weeks long enough to study without seminars / study partners just books and downloads? Ok Honestly? Thanks your soon to be Architect in NYC

I spent about 6 weeks WITH seminars, but probably wasted about 2 of those weeks due to panicking about the whole process (seriously). So without seminars, depending on your comfort level with the material, you may well be fine. It's very personal. Don't be afraid to reschedule the exam if you need to (I rescheduled 2 or 3 times, extending my original 3 week study time estimate).
Good luck!

I just got my pass letter today and I am officially done!!!. I honestly thought there was no way I had passed GS when i came out of the exam center but i did!!! I was quite shocked....and of course pleased!!!
I studied about 6 weeks for not only GS and LF but also ME, (took all three in a row, on a thursday, friday and sat). So I would say that 6 weeks should be enough if you are disciplined and can put in all the hours. I took Mark Mitalski´s online course which was really really helpful to understand the concepts and learn how to do the problems, and then Kaplan and Archiflash. I was really nervous about this exam, and didn´t feel that confident going into the exam, but I guess I did well enough. There weren´t that many problems on the test, so don´t get too bogged down with those.
I also recommend taking GS and LF close together, as there is some overlap.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
