How close together did you take LF and GS? I am trying to decide on the schedule. Have to book the test soon, spots are filling up quickly at the end of the year.

Thanks

Did you study them simultaneously, or LT after GS?  I think I also want to take them together or close together.  Any tips?

Thanks!

yes,for the most part at the same time (when i got tired of GS stuff i would switch to LF)

for LF the FEMA manual was really good & the ATC guides are an absolute read for understanding earthquake design, i actually enjoyed reading these manuals (they are very interesting & it's something every architect should know well even if they don't live & work in earthquake areas)

on the other hand, GS was a tuff study, my advice for that, focus on the doing the simple formulas for various types of problems (don't work to much about the complex stuff)

IMO, just give yourself plenty of time & get it over in one shot

if you need any help send me a PM & i will do what i can
good luck

Hi All

I am starting the studying process for GS which I have scheduled for 11/19.  I too am curious when I should schedule the LF test.  Is there much overlap between study materail.  At this point, all I have is flash cards and ALS for both tests.  Is it benificial to just study for both at the same time and take the test back to back?  Looking for advice.

Thanks,  Aaron

Mr. B,

Which FEMA manual you are talking about?  Do you have a link for it?

Thanks.

By the way, I scheduled my GS and LF one week apart too for next month.
