A little harder than expected. I had about 12-15 calcs, 3 of which was supposed to be "beyond the scope of this exam"...so i was told.
One of those seemed to border a dynamics problem (moving force)
Several questions mention the size of a member and i couldnt tell if the dimensions given were nominal or actual....which impacted the answer.
***TIP***: at first i couldnt find the "sqrt" button on the calculator. I realized that once you select the "scientific" option...you cant go back to standard unless you go to another question then back to the original question.
But the main problem was the non-calcs....those tricky, wordy questions. One question was so complicated I could not distinguish the subject or the verb of the question (honestly).
Time was not an issue. I finished with 50 mins left...took a potty break, then came back to work on those couple of calcs i couldnt figure out (and never did).
I feel 50/50 about it right now. I definately missed quite a few...but i knew alot also. Its in God's hand now.

Thanks for the Ballast heads up - I'm working through the 4.0 SS sections in Ballast for my base, but also running through other references as well. It's good to know the limitations of the base source.

David's seminar was a big help. I did encounter a few questions (as mentioned) that either wasn't covered in the seminar or was more complex. But remember that the ARE always throws some difficult questions at you (some of which may not even count...so i've heard).
I believe that if you understand everything in the seminar, you will be good for the calc questions and at least half of the MC questions. (The rest come from materials and methods...structural related).
First test (of the 8 i have taken) that stays on subject.

thanks. I wonder if the fast results come from the fact that there is not many of us left in 3.1...
