I plan on rescheduling the rest of my exams (ME /GS/ LF) from now until the end of 2008. Yes--I know, crazy.
I have been studying about two months between exams and all has gone well , but with the whole transition to the 4.0 thing, I need to give myself at least one more shot to pass them in case it does not happen in the next few weeks before I have to transition.
I am in DESPERATE need of advise on ways to tackle this. I am estimating about 2 weeks of study time for each. Can you please share your tips on how to make my GS study time as productive as possible (i.e., study sources, seminars, ftp posts, etc)?
Are there any threads that you can share with key concepts that one should focus on??
Thanks!

Don't do it, IMHO. I would take your time and pass them the first time and don't have the extra pressure of trying to cram. I think you will need at least 5 weeks for LF if you are like me. 2-3 hours a night and most of your weekends. I have taken Thaddeus' seminar and I am in the process of Marc's as well.
You might end up taking them again next year anyway. Just my thoughts.

Lateral forces ended up being a very focused and easy to study for exam (READ FEMA front to back!).
I was always making stupid mistakes in my structures courses and never tested well and I was able to pass General Structures and then Lateral Forces on the first try.
I would say though that 2 weeks may be enough time to study for Lateral Forces, but definitely not GS. In GS my biggest tips would be to keep an eye on UNITS and not focus too much on memorizing the super complex equations- those are given to you. It helps to memorize the basic ones though.

I'd be glad to help you archichik,
Firstly, I just need you to tell me what materials you DO have already, and what associated seminars you've already attended, if any...along with the amount of experience you have in this field as of this present time..
I will also need to know (since I'm a few days late in responding)..have you schedule these exams yet?...
Once I know this info, I'll help you come up with a full proof plan to get you thru these....if you like...
Let me know...
Sorry to be so late in responding to this...I'm still studying for a few of my remaining exams..
Q..

Yes, I have scheduled ME for the beginning of December and the rest (GS and LF) for the end of December.
I have Ballast, Ballast's sample exams, Kaplan, ArchiFlash and Architect's Studio Companion. In addition, for ME I have MEEB and Heating, Cooling and Lighting (Lechner).
I have not attended seminars, but am looking into Mitalski's online course for GS and LF.
I have slowly been adding to my library of reference material, that has proven to be very useful on the other MC exams, but am in a bit of a bind now. Where to start? Are there any critical chapters I should be focussing on?
I currently have eight years professional experience.
Can you help Q??

this would seem like a bad idea. i would have simply pushed out the structures tests. if you failed them in the spring then you would only need to take 1 exam in 4.0. and it's not like the structural vignette you'd redo is all that complicated. you're murdering your holidays friend... and i am taking mitalski right now for gs. he's the man, can't recommend him enough.
