I do not feel fully confident with trusses.
What do you GS experts suggest in terms of something that can simplify and break down the conceptual side of this topic.
Help please...!
Thank you.

Good Morning danielle227,
I'm sticking with the basics, no calculations. If a calc appears on my exam , I'll weep, then make an educated guess and move on.
I am concentrating on:
- identifying the various types of trusses (pratt, howe, warren, vierendeel, etc)
- a truss with rectangles is statically indeterminate
- a truss with triangles is statically determinate
- understanding which truss member is redundant, in compression, or in tension
- check out the seminar notes in the ftp, pages 31-36
- Architectural Graphic Standards
- Ching's 'A visual Dictionary of Architecture', pages 259-261
I know the above looks like a lot of material. But I prefer hitting a topic like trusses from various sources. Hoping, eventually, the light bulb will go off. Best of luck in your studies.

Flats,
Wow!
You are dead on with a strategy of how to study for trusses.
The big picture of trusses is all you would expect to see on an MC exam with a limited time budget per question.
