So how do you start studying for this exam? what is the best source to buy?
any advice would be great...i need to buy some sort of manual.

I used the Kaplan self study guide 2007 and archiflash cards and if I remember right, I printed info from this forum. My biggest problem was fear of the test and procrastination. I waited (stalled) 6 months before I started to study for this exam. Once I got started, I read and reread the Kaplan chapters untill I had a good understanding of the material. Eventually it will click. Most of it anyway. I studied most every night and did the flash cards on my lunch break every day. I found the test pretty straight up. I had only 8 to 10 calculation questions and most were very basic. The formula page of the test will be a big help. If you can get your hands on a Steel construction manual (ASD) this will also help. You probably don't have the luxury of time, so go for it and stick with it. The test is very doable.

| i write in 3 weeks. got the 2 kaplan guides from '98 (but i guess structures doesn't change) and the flash cards. no procrastination here! lol.
