| When working through the vignettes if you have a 50' wall that you want to span with columns and beams, then do you draw two individual lines between the three columns or do you draw one continuous long line? Does NCARB view one continuous line as one single long beam?

This should be in the 4.0 area.
. . . but to answer your question, you should draw each beam individually. You are doomed if you do not. When you draw the beam, and click the "id" button, it will id at whatever length you drew it. This information will be used by the computer to grade the exam, and having beams that are too long is a bad thing.

| I will try and clarify below. For example: Let's say you have a clerestory window at the top of a wall that is 100' long so to carry that roof load over the window you use a beam that rest on columns spaced every 30' or so down the 100' long wall. So the beam that you draw over top of the columns is one continuous line 100' long? or do I draw separate line segments in between each column? I realize that in real-life that is actually how it would be built but does the computer care how you draw it? Hope that is understandable.
