and lo and behold a PASS! In reviewing the letter I saw that I also passed LF. I tested for GS on 11/1 and LF on 11/7. Got my letter for GS pass today on 11/18 and in the bottom chart is shows a pass in the results for LF.
Now I just gotta pass BT or I'm screwed!
Thanks to all who posted on this site! I could not have done it without you and special thanks to IronWarrior. His outlines and info were the bomb for LF. Here is what I used to study.

congrats and thanks for the study info. this is helpful information and i sure do appreciate folks who share their exam experience with those of us still bumping around wondering how to prepare.
bt, i learned, is all about strategy and order--i suggest doing the vignettes you know and are comfortable with first. good luck cred.

Wow, i just noticed your test dates and result dates! THAT is fast for results!

| Many have commented that it seems that NCARB put some of the more difficult questions in the first 20 or so. Not much extra time to pass the first 20 and start at 21. All of the truss cord force reactions were from 5 to about 15, if I remember correctly.

| Yeah, that is the theory. Maybe it is all BS but to calm my nerves it worked. Hey I passed GS and LF the first time so maybe it had something to do with it. As I stated above all of my truss cord calculations were in the first 20.......

Seemed to work, as I finished and got back to the first twenty (which were considerable harder) I was already settled in and able to dissect the questions and analyze exactly what they were asking.
Several calculations, 5-6 moderate in difficulty, 4 truss diagram calculations (2 of them would have taken 5 to 6 calculations to get the reaction, so I figured out if it was C or T and guessed from there) and the remainder were simple calculations... Moment of Inertia... simple deflection.
You can easily remove two of the four from possibilities. Some of the calculations you have to work each answer to see if it correct or not.
Several history questions, but not as simple as naming a structural engineer, more like, Who's typical designs had the largest concern for snow load deflection? And the answers came down to knowing each structural engineer's buildings and period of construction. Yes, period of construction. I eliminated two answers, but the remaining two were know for the same type of structures; one was 50 yrs in advance of the other. (I answered it wrong on the exam. Researched it when I got home.)
Allot of material questions and best use applications of those systems. Standard questions that the review tests ask.
