Got back a few hours ago and thought I would give you all advice for this exam. Just be sure when you are studying to really really focus on delivery methods and contracts. I can't think of specifics, just EVERYTHING. I would estimate 50% were questions on either a contract or something similiar, like who is responsible for what. Then 30% was on delivery methods, the other 20% was site planning, like more urban planning stuff.... actually I can't think of much on urban planning. It was all situations like what should you do when this happens or that. READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY. This is the first time I really REALLY paid close attention (because I have failed the only two exams I have taken so far). Just look at the question very specifically, and pick up on key words like if it asks about "characteristics" make sure the answers are in fact, a characteristic. I can't believe how many times I caught myself re-reading it 5 times and then realizing my initial instinct was wrong because I was not answering exactly what they were asking. Anyway, it was anything tricky or out of the ordinary, just go slow and take your time, there is a good amount of time for MC and it stays focused, no wtf questions (first time ever!) just know the roles of the architect!
For graphic, some reason even though I did the practice ones in 15 minutes this took me til the very end. I think it was nerves, but with 1:18 left I re-read the program for the 15th time and realized I had a fatal error. I fixed it in time, hands shaking like a leaf, and heart pounding!! No matter what, RE-READ the program over and over. I was about to sit and let my last 3 minutes run out, but I re-read it and notices two potential failing mistakes. Just simple tiny errors like math! Use the calculator even if it is 95+25 because when you're under pressure and time you might think the answer is 130 like I did ha! And I am a math whiz. This also must have been what my "moderate deficiencies" in my BDCS vignettes that I SWORE i had all correct with 30 minutes left. Man I must've just made a stupid careless mistake. Anyhow, good luck to you all and stay cool when you realize you made a mistake!! Just take a deep breath, zoom in and fix it.

i'm glad to hear your response to PPP. I'm getting ready to dive into test #2 on Nov 1st. I took SPD first, on Sept 13, but still don't have my results yet. Called the board, they said wait 4 more weeks and call back....argh.
I started study for this test with AHPP, but honestly with two small children, studying usually occurs late in the evening, and this book tends to ZZZZZZZZ....huh what?
But I ended up buying PPP ballast practice problem book, while I can't say much for the clarity of the questions or the typos, the study tips in the answers were very helpful...including a web link to additional study material.

The articles on delivery methods were very good. It takes the boring run on way that AHPP decribes it and puts it into understandable format that doesn't leave you drooling on page 260.

your office probably has a copy of this hidden some where on the back shelves...I did not buy mine because there are 3 copies in the office...Look around. A lot of the recommended reading books can be found in your office or in the personal library of the (more mature) persons in your office. Apparently a lot of them used to be textbooks and some still are I know that I have a few in my personal library from when I went to school and that's only 5 years ago.
Ask around...it can't hurt.

| Couldn't really see the differences between the student version that I had and the one I found in my office. I just ended up using the office one because it was the edition that was on the list of references.

| I took the exam over two weeks ago and honestly only 5% of the questions came from the Kaplan book, but since I took CD previously it really help with all the contract questions and delivery methods, I got a lot of questions about adaptive reuse in different esenarios and no questions what so ever related to codes. I was very surprise to get the select four and select three questions. I honeslty hope I passed.
