This question comes from Funkaar study quides, What flooring type would be the best choice to maintain a cool microclimate.
A.) white stained concrete
B.) dark glossy tiles
C.) dark hardwood
D.) light textured concrete tiles
The correct answer is C, My first thought was A because its light in color and its concrete. Could someone explain why thats not corect?

I have a similar question from Archiflash. It goes like this.
Q: A pool deck with a low albedo would most likely be made from which of the following materials?
A) Asphalt
B) Concrete
C) Slate Tiles
D) Redwood
Answer: D Redwood
Here is there explanation:
"Because the question specifies a low Albedo, it can be inferred that the deck will be absorbing light/heat. The material qualities of the choices become important. Which material will deal with absorbed heat in the most comfortable way? When asphalt, concrete, slate have a low albedo the energy gets stored in the material, making it feel very hot to the touch. The redwood's insulating properties prevent this type of thermal gain, enabling a person to walk on it with bare feet during the summer."
This is pretty much along the same lines as what you asked, so apparently it's the materials ability to store heat that would have a greater effect on the micro climate.
