I just took GS today and scheduled LT for 3 weeks from now. What would you suggest as a good "Fundamentals" primer to Lateral Forces?

FEMA 454 is the BIBLE. I swear, if you got a reasonable test from NCRAP (yeah, I know--NCRAP does not equal Reasonable), you could obliterate LF.
I would do this:
Read FEMA 154 first (skip the RV paperwork) as it is written in commonspeak
http://ironwarrior.org/ARE/Lateral_Forces/FEMA_154-2002.pdf
Next, sit down with a bottle of Vodka and read all of FEMA 454. It is big in size, but the pages have large margins so you can burn through it.

(168MB of fun)
Then check out Wither3d's Study Guide. If you are brave, you can read mine, but its best served when you feel loopy.

I read FEMA 454 chapters 4,5,8 in depth, highlighted...re-read... and also read 6,7, and 9, and although it was full of useful stuff...none of it showed up on my test. Not even indirectly, either.
Remember, what was the "bible" to one may not be to another. My exam was just ridiculous. Perhaps I could say I was indirectly helped on 2-3 questions by reading all that FEMA stuff...but I really can't pinpoint any of the questions. Plus, it may have been Kaplan overlap. Who knows.
The point is, my fail letter should be here shortly.
In summary, I would recommend reading FEMA document 454, but it should be complementary to Kaplan & Flashcards (among other stuff). I know one guy said he had a few questions directly out of Chapter 8.... I WISH I had a few questions directly out of ANYTHING I'd read...
