|
Has someone taken the M/E exam who also used the Kaplan test bank CD to study?
I'm wondering how the test compares to the cd bank, especially in terms of using it as a guage of preparedness.

A co-worker, who passed the ME exam recently, used the Kaplan guide and said it was good but not enough.
She also took the Practive exams of the MEEB book (online) and she said that was really good additional info

She also look at all teh graphics of the book, she said there were at least 2 graphics that were exactly like the book.

Is this referring to the Kaplan CD exam? If not, it doesnt answer my question...

I did use the CD Test Bank and is good because you can verify your answer and have an explanation. I think is not enough but as newlyARE said the MEEB online quizes are better.
I fail first time and retesting soon and using both for practice, but more into MEEB

This is my 2nd time taking the MEP exam and I used the Kaplan CD test bank and agree that it was not good enough.
In the CD test bank, I was scoring in the 90's%, but when I took the first exam a year ago, it was tougher than I had hoped.
This time, I'm using the ARE Forum to the fullest extent (downloading all the info from the FTP drive and reading the chats). Also, I will be going to my local AIA seminar to fully prep for the exam.
Will be taking the exam in mid-May.

| I bought all of the test banks from Kaplan. It was the very last thing I would use before testing. It isn't just like the exam but it does get you in the right frame of mind for test ie sitting in front of the computer for a couple hours. Also as someone in else mentioned the practice portion of the cd will tell you why answers are wrong which is helpful.

Kaplan bought ALS. Their paper exams are probably the same, but the test bank CDs are relatively new. I found them to be very helpful when preparing for the exam... and like CA Girl, I used them as a last-minute resource - typically a day or two before the exam, to ensure that I knew my stuff.
Be wary though, some of the programming is wrong, and the right answer will register as a wrong answer. Be sure to read Kaplan's explanation with each question answered.

I agree with the comment above - there were a few questions with wrong answers that were listed as "correct". However, I was able to tell the difference from studying and reading the explanations.
The local AIA seminars were exceedingly helpful and I'm using the study materials provided by the seminars more than the Kaplan book. Also scanned a bit of the MEEB book.
My exam is on May 12th (Monday morning). Will keep you guys posted on it. I think its 105 questions in 2 hours?

confirmacion que yo no soy loco!
there've been answers to the kaplan cd test bank that say "C - Wrong answer", while the explanation below would say "..so C is the correct answer", and I'm left with that "what the f.." look on my face.
So, I've taken the kaplan cd test bank and scored miserably - then taken the MEEB online quizzes of the same subject matter and averaged 90% on all of them - some of which I skimmed.
with that said, i dont think i'm prepared for my exam on tuesday..(may 13)

I imagine that you will hear within the next day or two, as you took your test less than a week from me, and I got my results last Thursday.
