I hope I'm not alone, but trying to figure out the differences between illumination, luminance, light Intensity, lumens, footcandles, footlamberts, etc. is overwhelming. I stumbled upon this website while looking for a simpler explanation than Kaplan, Ballast, Flashcards and MEEB could provide. I found it helpful. Maybe someone else will as well:

Yea, thanks a lot. It helped clarify things for me. I really liked the description for the inverse square law. I wasn't totally clear on this, and this description made it seem so simple.

I took ME on 5/5. All of that worrying about the inverse square law, illumination, etc. and I didn't even have a question about it. Crazy. Still good stuff to know. Now I can impress all of my Electrical Engineer counterparts. :dude:
