The test could go either way for me (per usual). MEEB was very helpful (and, in my opinion, necessary), and I skimmed relevant chapters for a few days.
Time management is very important. I did not have time to review marked questions, although I finished all questions.
My test was similar to others on the forum and a previous list of test items is below - with my revisions. Obviously knowing what these items are will narrow down your possible answers, but some in-depth knowledge is required to answer all correctly.
Calculations
1. Plumbing fixture count - using charts
2. # of light fixtures - using reference
3. U-value
4. Escalator - ...that's right, escalator calcs.
Mechanical/Environmental
1. Select HVAC system based on building type, climate, and diagram
2. Building orientation (simple)
3. Degree days - know how it's used.
4. Solar heat gain and windows
5. Psychometric chart information - I did not care for the question.
6. Solar shading - intuitive... or is it?
7. Passive solar design systems
8. Sun chart - answer e) whatever the 3D model says (not available on my test)
9. Natural ventilation
10. Air filters and placement
11. Urban heat island
12. Indoor air quality
13. Vapor retarder
14. Thermosyphoning
Plumbing
1. Gas piping - where, when and how
2. Backflow preventor
3. Fixture units - google it, or maybe you already know.
4. Air gaps
5. Traps for what fixtures or systems
6. Sewage treatment systems - one question
7. ADA requirements - bathrooms fixtures,etc.
8. Pipe insulation - which pipes need it?
9. Aerator
Electrical
1. Power factor
2. No Wye & delta configurations
3. Switch types/symbols - I can't believe I screwed this one up.
4. Grounding
5. Electronic intruder detection
Lighting
1. Light types, efficacy, and colors
2. Distribution patterns e.g., indirect, semi-direct, etc.
3. Flicker
4. Ballasts
5. Surface reflectance
6. Daylighting
7. Sensors and dimmers
8. Illumination levels for different tasks
9. Glare - when does it occur
10. Coefficient of utilization
Acoustics
1. Structural-borne sounds
2. Absorption
3. Masking noise
Fire Protection/Life Safety
1. Fire/smoke detectors
2. Fire suppression systems
3. Standpipes
4. Compartmentation
5. Building code related to sprinkler systems
Miscellaneous
1. Elevator machine room

Very helpful, I too will be taking this exam this week on the 4th so knowing this is great. My one question is regarding your comment on Wye and delta configurations. You say No Wye and Delta configurations, do you mean "no" or "know"?
Also, light switch types do you mean a two way and four way switch, teledata, double receptacle single receptacle and so fourth?
Thanks and I wish the best. If it makes you feel any better, I know two people who thought they bombed the test, primarily because of the 30-40 wtf questions, they both passed. Wish I could say the same regarding my first attempt.
