Don't be! Stay focused and complete the easy ones first and come back to the harder ones. Watch the wording of the questions. The calculations are easy and all the info that you need is in the reference section. Good luck!

I'm on to the GS and LF to wrap it up... you've already passed those .... so how you advise me on those two exams?

Thanks.  I feel GS and LF are relatively easier in all the exams.  As long as you focus on the study guides, understand the concepts, and do some of the calculation excercises (this is necessary to speed up your calc process), they are fine.  They overlap a lot with MM, I would suggest you quickly go through MM as well if you have time.  Good luck!

Congratulations for passing the BEAST!

I want to re-take this Mechanical/Electrical, but it has been a long time since I studied for it. I wanted to ask you to list the most important material you think I should study, and where I can get it at a good price.

Than you.

I assembled a 3 ring binder and divided it into each part  that I needed to study (ie: acoustics, electrical, mechanical systems, etc.

I read each part until I knew it and then moved on to the next. I cut out pictures and images so that I could identify parts and systems and drew pictures so that I would understand things better. I'm a visual learner and I needed to draw and re-write things for it to sink in.

I studied from:

MEEB, Architect's Studio Companion, The old ALS study guides, Archiflash cards, and used the forum notes from the FTP site.

Hope that helps. :)

Thank you so much mrdcon!

My next test is Building Planning, this would be my second try. I need to practice more  to solve the problems faster, the drafting part is okay. I'm only using the Kaplan book and practice vignettes. Does anybody out there have other suggestions in preparing for this test? how can I get the Dorf book?

Thank you everybody!

There are plenty of people selling their copies of 'Solutions' here and there. Head over to the 'Marketplace'. You'll find it in 10 seconds. I'll have to re-take BP as well, but not before going round 1 with both ME and PD.

I read Kaplan, all the notes on the ftp site. I read the MEEB cover to cover (6 weeks), by the end of MEEB, I thought I did not remember anything, and I rescheduled my exam to 2 weeks later, and started focusing on the topics in the forum.

I found the following post a great guide, and studied every topic on this list.  Many questions I encountered in the exam were covered.

Those final two weeks turned out to be essential.  I was able to focus on certain areas the exam was heavy at, and elaborate the materials in those aspects, instead of losing emphasis when I was reading every chapter of the MEEB.  In the last two days, I was able to quickly browse most of the gaphics in MEEB, which was helpful too.

Hope it helps, and good luck!
