I arrived early as usual for the 9th exam.  By this point the friendly Prometric people know me by name (well almost).  I checked in sat down and, and, and..........nothing!  Let's just call it the blue screen of death.  It sound better than the damn prometric logo.

Let's back up 5 minutes.  The nice prometric employee told me a dreadful story at check-in about a person that came in the other day and attempted to sit for an exam.  To make a long story short this person was sent home after 2 hours and was told they needed to reschedule.  I didn't ask to many questions just smiled and said that sucks!

So here I am staring at the blue screen of death.  I give it a minute then exit the room.  Then it got worse...the nice prometric employee turned white before my very eyes before I even said anything.  She started apologizing and said she wished she never shared the story with me.  Steam is blowing out of my ears at this point..........  Not at her but because I had prepared and built up to this last exam like I was pole vaulting in the Olympics.  Damn Prometric, Damn NCARB why did they have to change the exam.  Damn....Damn....Damn.

To make a long story short because I don't feel like typing and you probably don't care to read it.  They worked out the problem after an hour and I was able to take my exam.  I honestly believe they worked it out because: (1) I was patient with her and didn't fault her. (2) She was very persistent and pursued every angle she had at her disposal to find someone that could resolve the issue.  This took several calls and several failed attempts to reset the exam.

What can I say about the exam.  As usual I can't remember much.  The test seemed fair and predictable.  I had the run of questions: The ones I knew, the obvious "yes that was too easy", several WTF, some fairly to WTF calculations, a couple on history, etc., etc., etc.

So good luck on your exam and if you find yourself in the same position I was in be patient and persistent and ask the nice prometric employee to take it to the next level if required...it was worth the one hour wait.  Don't lose hope and know they have a fix!  Ohhh I almost forgot, part of the reason I scheduled all my exams before the 4.0 overlap was to avoid these potential issues.  Go figure!

OK so tomorrow is 4 weeks and no results.  I am growing impatient.

Called Prometric 2x today to make sure the exam went to NCARB.  They were not helpful at all...one told me to wait for 6 weeks and the other told me to call ARE Ops.  Called 1-800-896-2272 and sat there for an hour on hold.  Called back and stayed on hold for a too long...gave up.  Called back and they are closed so I left a message.  Wait is the wait time for returning calls 4 weeks?

Hold tight there Spokes...  I took this exam on July 1 and just today got a letter...  that makes 25 days to get my results - and my state board is quite quick to get my letter out...  This was the first MC in a while -  I took the first two MC exams back in April and it took 17 days for one and 15 days for the other so this was like waiting an ETERNITY...

I bet you'll find your letter in the mailbox Monday! :)

I finally got the letter and it was not what I had hoped for.  Ended up passing 7 of 9 in nine months.  Considering my original plan was 2 1/2 years I am pleased with my progress so far.  An SP retake next month and the M/E retake in December...hopefully I will be done this year.
