Hi Guys.  So, I have been studying for a month for this one.  I started immediately after taking my previous test which was BT back on August 9 (btw. still dont have results on that one).

Back in spring I studied perhaps 5 weeks for CD and then 3 weeks for PD.  But I was confident enough to sign up for both after the 3rd week of CD study.

Here I am on week 5 of MM and don't see an end to it!  This is just a sanity check to see if perhaps I am being too anal or is the material just much broader?

Granted, this is also stuff I actually want to REMEMBER after I pass, pretty useful things.  But hey, there is many more exams in front of me before 4.0 kicks in.

So, any advice on how to wrap this baby up would be appreciated.

Cheers and happy studying.

I want to know the same things...

Do I read enitire PD,CD Kaplan guides, ME as well

Or just make sure I know everything on the read over list. I know this doesn't help as I am asking more than I am sahring.

But find the readover "redrover" list, also download as much as you can from the FTP site..

Also for CD's what did you use just Kaplan or did you read AIA documents as well..

Thanks

After reading all the great stuff about this list in the past few days.....I believe if you based your studies on the 'Redrover Master List' (shortcut below), you'll be good to go once you feel comfortable with the items denoted on this list:

http://www.areforum.org/forums/forum5/50692.html

This will be the basis for my studies, and I've taken this exam 3-4 times already....however I'm only giving myself 2 weeks to study for this one again....

But I never knew about this list til now...so hopefully it will make all the difference in the world....but we'll see...;)

HOpe that helps,

Q..

Thanks Guys for responding.  I printed out some ftp stuff.  Before I was studying for the knowledge.  Now I am switching to "pass the exam" strategy, learning all this useless crap, manholes etc.

To be honest with you, I am pretty sick of studying, and I am only at #4!  The more I study, the less I want to be an architect.  At least a licensed one.  I dont know why.  All this stuff an architect is supposed to know...  And other stuff, things at work, so overwhelming.  Pretty complex profession we chose, for better and for worse.

Hey pony, I felt the same way the other day becoming overwhelmed by it all studying for MM

all the other exams I've taken seemed straight forward as far as study material...but when I failed LF I felt crappy! Because I put so much effort into studying...we all do...

Anyway am pushing on in the face of this blizzard!

Have been studying for 7 weeks.  Still two more weeks to go, I am afraid.  Is this Allen book really crucial?

I've just started my 5th week, dude...am hoping to finish writing notes from Kaplan by end of this week, then start on sustainability notes, then go through Archiflash MM ( 3rd time), review CD Archiflash cards again, went through once this weekend knew about 1/4 of cards (UGH!!!)

I am just going to focus on CD and not PD because I just won't finish...hopefully I can get by without focusing too much on PD

The way I figure it if everyone's been saying the test is generallly 50% MM, the rest sustainability or CD's then that's the route I'm focusing on... or else I'll go nuts trying to get through all this stuff....

I am also crossing things off the master list as I learn/am comfortable with them

Dude I hope we pass!!

Same here. This will be only my 3th week of study, but on my plan I have at least 6 weeks.

I already took PD and CD, so I would have to review those only 1 or 2 days worth of reading my notes.

I'm using Ballast and Allen at the same time, i.e Metals part, but I think sometimes Ballast is too much technical stuff, so when I feel I can't get the concept, I read Kaplan for that part.

And then at the same time I check Ching (Bldg Const Illustrated) and see graphs to get the idea better.

Well, I hope we all pass!
