just got back from my CD's test today-

No novel questions, like in all the practice tests.  Fair questions I would say.

The test was really straight forward.  I started studying the Ballast book which I thought was a great start.  Then I read the Kaplen books and used my Arch flash cards, which are great to have.   I also read over and over throughout my studying the  A201, B141, A101.

Test was probably 80-85% from that material.  There were only a handful of "WTF b/c of the vocabulary.  I think I got a couple wrong but i feel pretty good. We will see, I hope I pass b/c i studied my butt off trying to understand everything.  Wish me luck!!

Hey Michael! Glad you came out feeling good. I think this one gets a lot clearer when you just log in the hours reading the material, no?
Well keep me posted...I took CDS last week so it'll be a while yet for me.
What's next?

I am gearing up for the CD test and wanted to know how much you feel studying the actual agreements?  I keep reading the study guides and referring to the contracts but when I take the tests, all my memory flashbacks comes from the study material, not the contract themselves.  So, when you took the test, how often did you remember information from the actual contract and how often did you remember information from the other study material?  See where I'm going with this?

Thanks

I really want my score!!! Usually I hear really quickly...the last time I took a test I heard within a week. (I failed miserably and maybe they didn't even grade my whole test but still...)I'd feel better about moving on to Pre-Design if I could get some positive Multiple choice news. I felt way more confident with the graphic tests...

I readed the A-201, A101,B141, bidding instructions at least once, but as i was reading the books I keep review the documents plus kaplen and ballast refer to documents.  I was pretty much on top of them always looking at them or checking for something. there always some thing you will for get, everytime i took a practice quiz i forgot atleast one or two answer and then i looked them up and wrote it down.

When I took the test is was straight forward, they reffered to the contracts alot on my exam.  I remembered alot of the material and understood it.  I hope its a pass for me.

I like Kaplan (architectural license seminars) because they keep repeating the material and referencing it so by the time I read through it a couple of times I felt like I really had a handle on what they were talking about. It was a much easier read than Ballast in my opinion.

I just checked my score on the Texas website and its a PASS!
I was really worried...I had a dream last night that the website said I failed.
Now I can move on to Pre-Design with confidence! Hopefully you guys will get good news as well!

Yeah...on the Texas website (I'm back-dooring the tests through Texas since I'm still trying to get CA credit for IDP)
You can log in and see if you have passed or not. Usually they post the score as soon as it is graded...I get my official letter a week or two later.

I agree- read the contracts until its fairly painless to distinguish one from another. The first time I took this test, five minutes of reading the contracts had me asleep. needless to say I failed.

If you are having trouble keeping the contract language straight, I would not recommend sitting for the exam, postpone it another couple weeks and let stuff sink in. Keep reading and rereading until it gels. It makes such a difference.
