| I would love to believe that. Do we have past test taker confirmation?

Just to convey this massage, I created this Alt (after receiving the FAIL result) so that others should not get the same pain of failing this exam.

I tend to agree with Sajjad on this one based on my own experience. There is no telling exactly what NCARB will downgrade or consider fatal, which is why I would like confirmation from a successful SD candidate that they place their parking in the direct line of sight and passed. Can anyone confirm this?
edit: I am revising my opinion based on past posts that confirm passing solutions by place parking between the building and the view - see links below

| Do not place parking in between building and view. In fact your entrance should face the view.

I appreciate your recommendation, but may I ask on what basis you make these recommendations?
edit: I found two posts that confirms that parking is acceptible. What do you know?!

NCARB's program specifically states that "buildings and/or trees block view". I have never seen anything about parking. Probably not recommended, but I cannot beleive this would be a fatal error.
Good discussion.

But from what Lugnut was saying it's not recommended. Plus Dorf says that you should try to face the entrance towards the view and to not have anything block the view.
I would have to agree with Saajad(sp?). The only thing that I can think of that caused me to fail was having the the HC parking in front..... I really don't know where else to place them though.

back to the view question, though...Dorf's sample #1 has the main entrances of both bldgs facing both streets, which are perpendicular to one another...isn't it inevitable that one view is not directly facing the street? and it has to be parallel to one of the streets?

what if the view is not a lake but mountains?
and what if you have loads of trees right in front of the mountains...wouldn't those block the view if the building was very close to them?
i'm thinking that since parking is flat it doesn't literally block the view. Sure the view might be further away...seems like it would be a downgrade not a fail. is NCARB playing mind games with us?
