Please note that the code in this vignette says: at least one acc. AOR shall be provided on each level within stair enclosure.
upper level 320 2 exits
lower level 440 2 exits
grade level 5 1 exit
1- does that mean 1 AOR is enough for lower level? I did not see anything about the number of AORs required per occ. load on this vignette.
But I saw the dorf pass solution providing 2 on the lower level any way.
2- the landig on dorf has an irregular shape! Is that even possible w/ this NCARB software?
Please comment and I will tell you about the mistakes I have made!
thanks

| I think I would avoid having the stair run to the bottom of the opening door. Maybe turn the last set of stairs down from the 3' landing, counterclockwise

In this case, one per level. 2- the landig on dorf has an irregular shape! Is that even possible w/ this NCARB software? If by irregular you mean a shape that can be created with multiple triangles, then sure, you draw multiple landings.

I am referring to Dorf Solution book page T-67 Grade-Lower level.
The landing is 4'-8" wide in front of the stairs going up. The rest of the landing is 5'-6" in front of the stairs going down. and the landing is wider in front of the door to include AOR. I can't draw this w/ Ncarb software w./out having extra lines and elev. codes.and.... I have no idea what you mean by triangles!

My Dorf copy is numbered differently, don't have a page T-67. If you don't mind scanning what you mean then I would be more than happy to comment.
I think what you're asking is if it's ok to make multiple landings and place them next to each other to make different shape landings? Yes, this is what everyone else seems to be doing. And you set the elevation level for each landing...look at the other posts and you will see this is what other people are doing too!

Oh thanks, I will look at the other posts.
I don't have access to a scanner. Sorry. Hey BTW thanks for your comment. I think you're right. Is that error fatal? I do have clear space for door. It can be treated just like a landing, right? ... I will change the design.

The extra lines and elevation markers don't matter. Just make damned sure that every elewvation is set correctly, whether you think it's redundant or not.
