Per NCARB, you may rent time at a testing center to practice the software.

Seriously, run parallels (or similar) it's your best bet to use your own computer. Or if you don't have access to computer that can run windows, borrow an old one from a friend or find a cheap refurbished netbook with windows starter. At a buck a minute at prometric the convenience will be worth it. I found the vignettes & program to be a whole different ball of wax then the paper practice tests and you will want to be familiar with the actual tools, practice for time etc. Good Luck!

I have the same problem. We have Parallels on our Mac and the software will run on that albeit clumsily. Any chance you can run Parallels. You might also see if anyone could loan you a non Mac laptop. I have a 10 year old Windows machine with no internet access so I downloaded the software at work (PC) but it on a thumb drive and loaded it onto the old Windows Machine. Worked fine. This was before I realized I had Parallels.

I'm surprised NCARD does not offer a Mac friendly version.

    Good Luck.

There is a way to run the practice software on your mac:

A very good screen captured video was made to explain the process - i have no affiliation with this but found it very clear and well explained: HERE

I do not have instructions for applying the alt vignettes for the mac though i have successfully loaded all NCARB vignettes. As it requires access to the "C" drive I have not found a way to do this yet. If anyone has successfully applied the alt vignettes in the mac please give us some tips!

    Default Alternates for Mac

I am running MacOSX. If you've installed the programs via Wine & the Winebottler (as I have via the video link posted above), your "drive_c" is located with in the prefix folders generated by Wine. You can find these in two different ways:

    1. In Finder: "your hard drive"/users/"your user"/library/application support/wine/prefixes/"ncarb software folder"
    2. Open the wine bottler application. In the existing prefixes menu, click on the finder button (the button all the way to the right) next to the program you're working in. This will open up the finder window, which contains the "drive_c" Wine has created for your application.

From here, you should be able to copy over & run the vignettes just as you would for a PC.

    Hope this helps!
