one more - you drew beams part by part for each bay. is it also ok to draw a continuous line to represent the beam or not?

thanks a lot.
Concrete
Draw everything to centerlines of walls.
It is unlikely that it matters at all if beams are continuous or broken at columns....however making them continuous is much easier to draw and eliminates the risk of leaving a gap somewhere.

Yes, there are several passing solutions options, and this is one of them. Actually,I believe that I arrived at the same solution that NCARB shows as a passing solution in their guidelines for the Structural Systems vignette.

Anyway, that is some insight to the decisions made. Feel free to e-mail me with inquiries regarding my solution or to discuss yours.

Early in the video, you mentioned there was not a need for the framing members at the end wall conditions. I took and passed the 3.1 version, (thanks to your class by the way) and now have to retake it due to 4.0 transition issues. I remember having to brace the end wall, non-bearing conditions with beams or bearing walls. Is that good practice to do? and is this something you should only do if the directions say nothing about it, vs specifically saying to not consider the end bracing conditions? Did I confuse you?

Marc,
You also have a lintel that exceeds recommended length.

Just another reason why all-steel solutions should be used. No need to worry about bearing wall rules.

Keep it simple. Use steel.
